What I like about this is that it tastes so good has chocolate and there is no guilt because it is a nurturing and balanced beverage that will improve your performance & leave you feeling satisfied. I’ve spent so much time over the past few years coming up with my own personal favourite healthy protein smoothies that I can take post-workout and will keep me going for the rest of the day, and I can finally say that I’ve found it!
Of course, there are plenty of other great post workout smoothies that I’ve created, but this by far – tops the rest. It has the perfect balance of anti-oxidants, healthy fats, protein and fibre. I never used to like dates, but that was until I started putting them into my smoothies, the first time I read on a café menu that there were dates in the smoothie I thought – eew! Why would you do that!? Needless to say, I had been living under a rock because it adds such great flavour to any smoothie :)
Of course, everyone has their own preferences so I have made sure to include that in the recipe, so that you can make this smoothie to best suit your taste buds. This is such a quick, easy & inexpensive treat, with great benefits. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
Prep t: 5 min | Cook t: 2 min| Serves 2
1C Soy Milk (or your preference)
1/3C Pitted Dates.
1 Scoop Vanilla Protein Powder (or Chocolate)
1 medium-large Banana
1Tbsp Almond Butter (or any nut butter)
1Tbsp Coconut Yoghurt (or your preference)
Add all ingredients to a blender & combine until texture is smooth, pour into 2 glasses, garnish with cacao nibs & serve.
